About High Elven
The prefix "high" elf did not originally originate from their higher prestige, but to the area where it was spoken. Before humans came to the lands of the Ailai, there were two main nations, the Iyoh Lenyish (people of the trees) and the Ailai Sitasa (people of the mountain). Since the word for "high" in High Elven is derived from the word for mountain, they were interchangeably known as the High and Mountain elves. By the time humans settled the valley, the Sitasa Empire had already expanded there, and thus the geographic "mountain elves" no longer made sense and the already quite popular "high elf" was used to replace it and was thought to refer to their status in society.
