Syllable Structure(C)V(C) is the general structure, where C is any consonant other than [ʔ]. [j] and [ɲ] are only permitted in intervocalic positions or at the start of a word. The glottal stop only occurs between two of the same vowels.

A word must have at least one consonant, and no more than two vowels can fall next to one another.
Stress informationStress always occurs on the second syllable.
OtherIf more than two vowels must fall next to one another for derivation purposes, an [s] precedes the third vowel. Repeat VC sounds will replace the first of the consonants with the [ʔ], such as the -alal of the extra diminutive form, which becomes -a'al.

If derivation requires a [j] or [ɲ] to break phonotactic rules, the other consonant will always be dropped.
