On page 87 of the webcomic Anecdote of Error, Nishkose refers to her roommate Shimei as "Shimei Salen." "Salen" is Shimei's Gahadelian name. The reason Shimei has these two seperate names is because Batean and Gahadelian's female names have different requirements. s'(sh') is required for Batean and łdm(len) is required for Gahadelian- as well as some other rules.
Another reason is that often those moving into Batea will change their name to fit- although both Shimei's names were probably chosen by her parents.
