[top]Tenses

The conjugations are easy and without any exception. You may see the conjugations table here.

The tenses are :
  • Present (I do)
  • Future (I will do)
  • Past (I did / I have done)
  • Present conditionnal (I would do)
  • Past conditionnal (I would have done / I would have been doing)
  • Imperfect (I was doing)
  • Imperative (do !)
  • Progressive (I am doing)
  • Revolutive (I did [but not anymore])
  • Past revolutive (I did not [but not anymore])

The particularity in the Pozdewk conjugations are the Revolutive tenses, which have a negative form in their english equivalent.

[top]Pronouns

The conjugations work without pronouns. They exist in only one form that is used for all "me", "my" and "mine" forms (using genitive declination for the two last cases).

  • iow (I)
  • dow (you, sg.)
  • hiow (he, she)
  • orm (it)
  • iows (we)
  • dows (you, pl.)
  • hiows (they)

You can read the pronoun declinations there. Please notice that only pronouns are using the accusative declination, and that their plural form is not conform to the nouns' one.

The third person (singular and plural) is used for a formal dialog, just like in spanish.

[top]About feminine

Although the feminine form is not usually used either in conjugations or in nouns, one may add -a to any pronoun to express it (potentially followed by a verb).

[top]Other verbal forms

There are five other verbal forms of three different kinds in Pozdewk. You can see the grammar table here.

The three kinds are passive compound (three different ones), infinitive of finality (one) and infinitive of expectation (one). The passive compound is translated in Pozdewk using the verb-verb contraction. For example, the past passive compound, which is equivalent to the past participle "done" in english, is the verb "to be" with the present tense, directly followed by an infinitive and an apostrophe.

The following examples are the different kinds of passive compounds : past, present and future. Notice the irregularity in the last one.

"It is done" = wtéissut' - /təjs:ut/ (litterally "it is do") "It was done" = wtéḡsut' - /təg͡ʝəsut/ (litterally "it was do") "It will be done" = wtéesosut' - /tjesosut/ (litterally "it will be do")
This example is about the infinitive of finality.
"In order to have a cat" = ḡorutep ÿ emá - g͡ʝoɾutep ʑ emɑ̤

The next one is an example of infinitive of expectation.

I have work to do = ḡorais paastyr suthm - /g͡ʝoɾɑjs pɑjɑstʏɾ sutʁ̩m/

On the other hand, the equivalent form of the present participle is simply the progressive (present progressive) or the imperfect (past progressive) tense.
