Menu 1. Onomatopoeia 2. Noun 3. Verb
root zir, zer, zor mean 'pain', 'salt' and 'sour' respectively.
With these three root, we can know how a word in Alon comes from its root.

[edit] [top]Onomatopoeia

Onomatopoeia plays a important role in Alon. With them, delicate emotions and details can be expressed. And since they encode the emotions and feelings, they are deemed as the sources of many roots.

Let's see izir first.
Affix a/i- is affixed to CVC roots to discribe a sudden/unexpected/accidental action.
More specifically, a- is used for a global/outward/bursting action, while i- means local/comparative minor/sharp.
Now, we can see that izir is used to discribe a sudden/unexpected/comparative minor/sharp pain.
Imagine someone is pricked by a rose. We can use izir to discribe such pain.
Interestingly, native speakers of Alon yell out izir! immediately when they feel pain like this.
Similarly, we can deduce izer and izor.
izer/izor can be used when we eat something too salty/sour.
In such occasion, people who speak Alon as mother tongue often call out izer/izor involuntarily to express their unexpectedness.

The reduplication form of a onomatopoeia indicates a continuous action instead of a instantaneous action or a long-lasting state/property instead of a moment at which the state/property is shown/felt.
zir-zir can be used to discribe a persist pain or the hot sun or burning feeling caused by that sun.
Let's see zor-zor.
Take plum as a example.Plum is a so sour fruit that we involuntarily start to secrete mouth water when seeing plums.
We can say it is zor-zor, because it is a steoretype instead of a momentary/unexpected feeling.
In the same way, it is easy to get that zer-zer is to discribe salted foods or salty feeling during eating.

As you can see, onomatopoeia in Alon is an obscure thing. It encodes not only some properties of a certain object but also human feelings towards these properties.

The formation of onomatopoeia also requires vowel mutation and consonant mutation in some cases.
I would like to talk these further next time.

Their noun forms are ziron, zeron, *zoron.
As you can see, suffix -on makes them nouns.

* It is not considered that yeast is realized by people in the world where Alon exists. Therefore, I tend to deny the existence of word zoron.
To summarize, the -on noun is the direct source of an action or property in most cases.
