Verbs in Standard Kopanic can be split into six groups based on the consonant (or lack there of) that they end in. These groupings determine what form suffixes will take when appended to the verbs.

Group One - Common

This group is for any verb that doesn't fit into any of the other groups. This includes any verb that ends in /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /f/, /v/, /θ/, /s/, /z/, /x/, /h/, /w/, /r/, /ɹ/

Infinitive Marker: "-at"

Some examples: xek, fvask, fvej

Group Two - Nasal

This group is for verbs that end in /n/ or /m/

Infinitive marker: "-akt"

Some examples: stum, eldetrn

Group Three - Labialized

This group is for verbs that end in labialized consonants.

Infinitive marker: delabialize final consonant and add "-akam"

Some examples: Wendejndw

Group Four - Tesh Verbs

This group is for verbs ending in post-alveolar fricatives (/ʃ/ and /tʃ/ or /tʒ/)

Infinitive marker - "-ot"

Group Five - "Wet" Verbs

This group is for verbs ending in /ɾ/, /j/, /l/

Infinitive marker - "-at"

Group Six - Vowels

This group is for verbs ending in a vowel

Infinitive marker - "-tam"
