Angtali culture is most known for its dance, drama and sculpture. Even in rural and neglected villages, beautiful temples are a common sight; and so are skillful coli performers and talented actors. Even layered pieces of jungle leaf and neat fruit arrangements made as offerings by Angtali women have an artistic side to them. Even works of art made by amateur Angtali artists are regarded as a form of spiritual offering, and therefore these artists do not care about recognition of their works. Angtali artists are also skilled in duplicating art works, such as wood carvings that resemble deities used in ceremonies all across the empire.

The culture is noted for its use of coli in music and in various traditional events of Angtali society. Each type of music is designated for a specific type of event. For example, music for a birthday celebration is different from music used for a wedding, cremation of the dead ceremony, purification ritual, and so forth. The diverse types of coli are also specified according to the different types of dance in Angtali. The art of dancing is an integral part of Angtali life as well as a critical element in rituals and ceremonies.

Traditionally, displaying of female breasts is not regarded as immodest. Angtali women can often be seen with bared chests; however, a display of the thigh is considered immodest. In modern Angtali these customs are normally not strictly observed, but people visiting Angtali temples are advised to cover their legs.

Angtali is a patriarchal society with religious and political affairs being the responsibility of men, but it is also a matrilineal society, with property, family name, and land passing down from mother to daughter. This places women in a relatively advantageous position in the society despite it being patriarchal, as they possess the majority of the economic assets.
