"Welcome!"

Ríoetycs can refer to any stage of the Mdtesskish Language, but in modern times exclusively refers to High Mdtesskish, a Standardized State-Sanctioned form of Classical Mdtesskish. High Mdtesskish was spoken by all Mdtesskish People until the Great Split, giving rise to all Mdtesskic Languages. High Mdtesskish is the most Prestigious Variety of Mdtesskish and is considered to be the "Purest" form of Mdtesskish. Its used mainly by the Upper Class, and is the Official Language of the Mdtesskish Kingdom, used to unite the Fractured Mdtesskic Languages, despite itself having no native speakers.

Mdtesskish is a slightly cursed Minimalist A Posteriori North Germanic Conlang. Created by Daniel Y.A. Zang in 2021, as part of a Micronation project. It's canonically spoken in the Kingdom of Mdtessk, Cnwnhyrjecíym Ríoetycsþíwed lit. "Kingdom of Mdtesskish People", in North America. Its spoken by the descendants of the Greenlandic Norse who travelled across the Labrador Sea to North America, and is spoken mainly in the Northern Great Plains of (in our timeline) the USA. Its descended from Old West Norse (Greenlandic Norse Specifically), diverging from the North Germanic family round the 13th Century. Its a pretty divergent member of said family. It has:

1, Simplicity. The Phonology is pretty simplistic for a Germanic Language
2, Orthography Stuff. It was devised by Welsh Missionaries for Middle Mdtesskish, has not changed since the Great Split, So there are some unconventional implementations of the Latin Alphabet. But its still phonemic
3, SOV fixed word order. Unlike most Germanic Languages, Mdtesskish uses SOV
4, Importance. This is by far my favorite project and the only one I plan to fully flesh out, this is not just another random Germanic altlang

[edit] [view] Ffijycs (Low Mdtesskish)This is an Officialy used umbrella term for all members of the Mdtesskic Language Family excluding High Mdtesskish. All Low Mdtesskish Varieties descended from High Mdtesskish after the Great Split, similiar to how the Romance Languages emerged from Latin. It is today spoken predominately by the lower class peoples of Mdtessk. Some consider it a Dialect Continuum while others Consider the variaties of Low Mdtesskish seperate members of the Mdtesskic Language Family.

Stress informationMdtesskish has fixed initial stress. There are words which may be pronounced with variation in stress in more rapid speech, but stress is never Phonemic
OtherMdtesskish phonontactics only allow glides in certain certain Consonant+/j/+Vowel sequences, and there are even more complications with the schwa phoneme, written orthographically as <e>. Historically, the schwa derived from a merger of the front rounded vowels. In Middle Mdtesskish, the sequence /jə/ merged with long /i:/, and as that was the only sequence where schwa appeared next to another vowel. Due to that, /ə/ does not come into contact with any vowel in High Mdtesskish.

Additional NotesMdtesskish CAN be written with Runes but:
1, In modern times the Latin Orthography is by far the dominant writing system in Mdtessk
2, Even though I have created an evolved derivation of Younger Futhark for Mdtesskish, I haven't figured out how to make a font file and upload it to CWS. So meanwhile, you people are stuck with the Latin Orthography (not saying the Latin Alphabet is boring or anything, I actually put some effort into the Latin Orthography) until I make a font
