About Aquālian
Aquālian is the language of Aquālos, the largest superpower country in my constructed world Luxma.
It started as being "latin, but Wrong" and has (d)evolved from there.
To keep the Latin-y flavor and let me be weird in other regards, pronunciation and stress is essentially just Classical Latin. Really basic words and suffixes also tend to be similar to their latin counterparts, but I try to keep my overall vocabulary more original.
Word order is arbitrarily based on the "emphasis" in the sentence, but falls back on being VSO (since the action taking place is generally the "interesting" part of the sentence). Nouns are kinda weird. They're not all in conworkshop, but there is twenty-six (!) noun cases. Postpositions existed in the proto-language but now they don't (except sometimes in poetry, song, and extremely polite speech). I hate myself.
Verbs are boring. They're like Spanish but without the subjunctive. Sorry.
