About Czorznarusian
Czarznarusian is alternative version of Belarusian language.
Differences in phonological history:
Vocabulary with much less Old Church Slavonic, Polish and German borrowings and more Baltic borrowings.
More conservative grammar in some aspects but few unique innovations:
Differences in phonological history:
- Pleophony of reduced liquid diphthongs;
- Vocalization of both dark and palatal lateral in coda position;
- Compensatory lengthening in the wake of of loss reduced vowel, like in Polish;
- Nasal vowels back vs front quality distinction loss, like in Polish;
- Long vowel quality transformations and length distinction loss, like in Polish;
- Palatalized rhotic consonant becomes fricative thrill like in West Slavic languages;
- Proto-Slavic *tl and *dl clusters turn into *kl and *gl like in the Old Novgorodian.
Vocabulary with much less Old Church Slavonic, Polish and German borrowings and more Baltic borrowings.
More conservative grammar in some aspects but few unique innovations:
- Aorist, imperfect and supine are preserved;
- Past tense copula + l-participle construction reorganized into new conjugation paradigm;
- New conjugation paradigm for future tense of imperfective verbs like in Ukrainian;
- Definite vs Indefinite form opposition in adjectives is preserved;
- Dative Absolutive construction is preserved;
- Vocative case is preserved;
- Allative and illative, ablative and elative, inessive and adessive cases are introduced by the Baltic influence and, unlike in the Baltic languages, remained productive.
- The accusative forms of personal pronouns developed into subject-personal-marking suffixes on verbs.
