About Daniellic
Description

Daniellic (suailaŋi or suahidaniel), also known as Suailangi, Tauilangese, or Rossic, is an Oceanic language spoken by the Daniellic people, or the Tauilangis (maŋatauilaŋi), in and near the Daniell Peninsula (husuŋidaniel or tanohitauilaŋi) in Antarctica (antartika or tanonalapanamaxinxiŋ). A significant number of Tauilangis also live throughout Australia (about 7,000) and New Zealand (about 8,000).

Additional Facts

  • Phonetic coalescence (ex. It is not my bird. - Manuk + ŋku + eti + ia. - Manuŋkuetia.)
  • More speakers outside Antarctica than inside (spoken by 9,000 in Antarctica)
