Syllable StructureSyllable structure is CCVCCC. However, most consonants collapse into various lengths of gemination, creating the obverse system of long, double-long and triple-long nasals, fricatives and plosives. Labio-velar consonants are similarly collapsed clusters containing labials and velars, while palatals were originally from an /i/ that was since lost in some contexts. (Velars do not appear before /i/; alveolars sometimes do.)

Voiceless plosive archiphonemes arise from clusters of voiceless plosives or mixed voicing (in most cases), and can appear before any stop or fricative (although fricatives either affricate or, in a few cases, retain clusters). Nasal archiphonemes arise from clusters predominantly of nasals or voiced plosives. Fricative archiphonemes are essentially the majority of consonants before a fricative phoneme assimilating to become said fricative, although in most cases these collapses are blocked when sonorants are involved.

This has lead to odd combinations of gemination, including andzktakst slakt becoming arnq́tas̄-zlaqt [an:t::as::::lat:], or ikpt sfa becoming iq́-psfa [ip::f:a]. Rare instances where a quintuple consonant might occur (as in iksksfie) simply collapse into 4 mora (i.e. is̄fie as in if:::ie, not if::::ie). However, triple-lengthened consonants often end up taking more than 4 morae allophonically due to their absurd length.

Despite most clusters being simplified, some remnants of the old system remain in words like anskfliqt or em(p)sklo.
Stress informationIck...Kya has a similar stress system to Japanese, in that it is morae-timed and has lexical tone. Despite this, there is not a clear distinction between 4-consonant and 5-consonant clusters, and they tend to collapse into a wishy-washy 4/5 morae that can serve any length from 4 to even 7 depending on context, although generally they are no more than 5. Consonants immediately before a vowel are considered to be the same mora as the vowel, which also affects super-long consonants.
OtherPhonetically, fricatives, plosives, and nasals all have four distinct lengths. However, morphologically they are simply collapsed consonant clusters, with only three unique archiphonemes having any length variation (being voiceless plosives, nasals, and fricatives), and are considered to only have a 3-length distinction.
