About Kairete
Status - 10d21m2024y
Including a change in the spelling of the language from Kyrete, to Kairete.
Kairete (/ka͡iɹɛtɛ/) is an a priori, lightly-agglutinative, philosophical, art language. Because of this, Kairete is different from almost every language you might have been exposed to. Kairete has a horizontally written fully featured conscript, and accompanying font, developed after 14 separate revisions. The characters of Kairete's writing system form an abugida (which overlap, and were a pain to put into font form).
The language itself is composed of 140 distinct "morpheme like particles" that are made up of consonant-vowel pairs (CV). There are 20 consonants, 5 vowels, and 2 diphthongs. Kairete's delivery of speech has little to do with tone. Information in Kairete is conveyed by the makeup of the words themselves.
All words in Kairete are chains of consonant-vowel, or consonant-diphthong pairs. The Kairete language does not use 2 consecutive consonants. The ts, sh, and ch are consonant clusters. As of the 3rd edition, these clusters are no longer romanized as a single letter.
Each particle represents either a semantic prime, or a grammatical case maker like an honorific, tense suffix, or subject marker. Kairete's general philosophy is that a sentence should be short, concise, contain few articles, and use as few syllables as possible. It is preferred to have many small sentences, rather than single large sentences.
Kairete is now undergoing a significant change to Kairete3rd edition.
