About Lakaal
Laka:l (also written Lakaal) is the national language of Ka:biko. It is one of the official languages of the archipelago. Laka:l is a lingua franca, utilizing the vocabulary and grammar structures of the eight major languages across the nation. It is used mostly in legislation, advertising, signage, and other public works. Most residents only use it as a secondary language, preferring to speak regional languages at home. The number of diaspora speakers of Laka:l has been steadily increasing with increased migration to Earth.
