About Luyman
The largest member of the Coastal branch of Eastern Insular Lahiri languages. It is the lingua franca of Daluyo and the only official language of the country. It's features include:
- 9 noun classes with relevancy in noun declension, pronouns and animacy hierarchy
- Head-initiality, with prepositions being one of few exceptions
- Strict animacy hierarchy, which affects mainly word order and valency, which are linked together
- Three tones (that can be analysed as pitch-accent)
- A lot of demonstrative pronouns that differ by proximity, gender etc. (tbd)
