About Orenat
Orenat is an artlang, written with an alphalogography of 30 characters. Each of the characters has a meaning, similar to any logography, and these meanings are combined to form words. However, each logogram also has a phonemic sound, like an alphabet. So words are said as they are written.
Each character actually two meanings, a standard meaning, and a separate grammatical meaning when in the initial position which is separated from the rest of the word by an apostrophe.
Compound words are formed using parentheses, for instance the word for 'sand' [g'gu(k'at̂)] contains the word for 'death' [k'at̂]. Similarly, the word for 'desert' [g'g(g'gu(k'at̂)] contains the word for 'sand'.
This means that complicated concepts can be written in a user-unfriendly, counter-intuitive and nigh unpronounceable manner.
