About Language of the Race This is my attempt at creating a language based off of the language of the Race, the reptilian alien species from Harry Turtledove's Worldwar series of novels about an alien invasion during the height of the Second World War. The language is spoken across the three (and a half including Earth) worlds possessed by the Race with little dialectical variation. Though the language can be spoken fluently by humans, the differences in mouthparts and biology mean that humans will always have an accent or sound differently, even among native human speakers. I am creating the language based off of the limited samples of the language and descriptions of it found in the books. The language described here is what I imagine to be the ideal way for human beings to approximate the Race's sounds as is taught in schools run by the Race. I do not own or claim any ownership over the Race or any other aspect of Turtledove's works. The Race does not use a flag, as they have been the sole political entity on their worlds for thousands of years. The image I chose as the flag is the map found in the Wikipedia article for Tau Ceti, the star around which the Race's homeward orbits.
