About Saremian
Saremian is a language derived from Old French dialects. This language was formed as a result of the active migration of Oïl speakers to the eastern part of the continent between Europe and the Americas called Amoria during the Middle Ages (11th-12th centuries). During these centuries, the first feudal Romance-speaking states began to appear in Amoria and became firmly established in the region, displacing the local Lantamic peoples. Standard French remained the language of high culture until the 18th century, but after the Carmatian Revolution in 1807, the standardisation of the various local dialects began and soon the Saremian language became the mainstay of the young nation's identity. The language has a very strong French influence and French is still widely spoken in Saremia. Although French and Saremiar are mutually intelligible, they have several differences. For example, Saremians use the SOV word order (Lantamic influence) and adjectives are mostly put before nouns (Lantamic and Germanic influence).
