About Sea Tongue
The Sea Tongue is a mixed language, the daughter of the Provincial Tongue and the Eastern Tongue. In it's earliest from, it existed as a trader's pidgin. Once people started marrying their trading partners, their children grew up knowing both their parents languages, but with their primary language, the language of their household, being the pidgin. From there, the Sea Tongue grew.
Features:
-3 grammatical genders for nouns: animate, inanimate, and inconcrete
-Plural vs singular in verbs, as well as nouns
-SOV and VSO word order (Subject and object are always together, but whether they or the verb comes first depends on which one is more important)
-Base 6 number system, where the 1s are counted on one hand, and the 10s (or rather, 6s) on the other hand
