About Voslia
In 2014, I was in love with the Czech language, so I created a language that I called Voslia. But, it wasn't the Voslia you're looking at the page of at this very moment. No. Now called "Old Voslia"; the Voslia I created died due to impractability. Allow me to explain. As the language expanded, problems began to rise. After a while, I was using characters in my orthography based on how they looked, regardless of whether the sound I wanted to represent was already in the language or not. I had no knowledge of IPA so that didn't help matters. Eventually, the entire Conlang stopped being worked on.
Around 2015 or so, I created a replacement; New Voslia! At present, Voslia has about 1800 words. It has relatively simple and naturalistic grammar. The phonology was heavily inspired by Spanish since it's the only language that isn't English I can speak and can speak at least decently. Unlike Old Voslia, I didn't want to experiment too much with Voslia because I didn't want another lingustic apocalypse on my hands.
Some of its neat features include:
- Pronoun dropping. Whenever a pronoun is the subject of a verb, it isn't needed as the verb conjugation implies what the person is. Voslia has only 2 aspects; perfect, and habitual. Every verb in Voslia is regular; mostly thanks to the syllable structure.
- Voslia stems are very important. A verb's stem is also its participle for use in the perfect aspect, and in certain cases like ability to do something.
- Object pronouns are like Spanish's but more accessible. Like in Spanish, Voslia verbs can have object pronouns attached to them. But UNLIKE Spanish, pronouns can become suffixes regardless of tense, person, number, or aspect.
