About Zagap Meant as a personal language. Originally conceived for the idea of having all nouns fit a CaCaC template, and all verbs fit a CaCCa template. The idea is that all vowels are inherently a schwa, or slightly further back "uh" sound, but then the consonants w and y (/j/) combine with the vowels to make more vowels.
wa --> u, ya--> i, aw --> o, ay --> e. The phonological proceses were conceived first, and the language built to test it out. Inspired by semitic triliteral roots.
I had tried to make languages with this inspiration in the past, but this one kept it more manageable. As I've gone along, I've developed some other ways to form nouns that don't fit the CaCaC template, as well as some compound verbs. Other parts of speach are limited. Adjectives are usually treated like verbs or nouns depending on the word. I have just two basic prepositions, and other ones are formed with nouns or verbs. The word order is VSO.
I've mostly drawn the vocabulary from English, just because it is easier to remember, but the strict phonology often renders words unrecognizable as coming from English. I try to derive any words I can from existing roots.

Syllable StructureCV(C)
Though sometimes consonant phonemes are realized as vowels, giving V(C) syllables.
Stress informationInitial, then alternating secondary stress.
OtherConsonants are voiced intervocalically, but not in clusters or in geminates. Geminate obstruents are pronounced as a single unvoiced obstruent intervocalically. Geminate nasals become prenasalized voiced stops, and geminate liquids may be pronounced in various ways. Word initial consonants become unvoiced, except in certain conditions. There is sort of a zero phoneme, an unpronounced vowel, which if it precedes the initial consonant, causes the initial consonant to become voiced. This is used in some inflections. Word final obstruents are unvoiced, but word final sonorants are voiced.
The three special consonants are h, w and y (/j/). There is only one phonemic vowel, a (ʌ), but it becomes various vowels when combined with w, y and h. aw becomes o, ay becomes e, wa becomes u, ya becomes i. ah becomes aa (/a/). aya becomes ea, awa becomes oa, ayya becomes ei, aywa becomes eo, awya becomes oi and awwa becomes ou.
