Adjectives provide other words or certain types of words with additional information and properties to describe them in more detail. In Mathal there are both weak and strong adjectives.
If an adjective is preceded by a definite article, a demonstrative pronoun or another pronoun, adjectives always follow the weak declension. To build an adjective you need to add a suffix to the root, like so:
Gradation | Positive | Positive | Comparative | Comparative | Superlative | Superlative |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Gender | ||||||
Singular | ||||||
Plural |
No matter how long a root is or how it begins or ends the ending for all genders and numbers are exactly the same. There is only a difference in gradation.
If an adjective is preceded by an indefinite article, number, or stands in a predicative position, it always follows the strong declension. To build an adjective you need to add a suffix to the root, like so:
Gradation | Positive | Positive | Comparative | Comparative | Superlative | Superlative |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Gender | ||||||
Singular | ||||||
Plural |
