The basic consonants are made out of cut off versions of the basic vowels.
L, pronounced /l/ AIO: [⋂]
R, pronounced /r/ AIO: [⋃]
N, pronounced /n/ AIO: [ᑕ]
M, pronounced /m/ AIO: [ᑐ]
You can clearly see a pattern in these letters as demonstrated below.
