A common way of forming names in Hathiryan culture is by taking a noun in the language and adding one of a number of name suffixes. These were originally nouns themselves, as two-word compounds are also common in Hathiryan names, but these particular elements became so common that even after they lost their meaning, they still remained as productive elements of names.

Male name suffixes:

-a (2nd harmonic class form of -e)
-al-
-de
-e
-em-
-ge
-i
-jun
-on
-ot-
-te
-ve

Female name suffixes:

-a
-ema
-ila
-in- This ending is identical to the one used to form such words as byotarin heroine and kyobin female elector.
-ja
-li
-lo
-lyn
-na
-o
-shia
-u (2nd harmonic class form of -a)
-uc-

There are no unisex suffixes. All suffixes not otherwise indicated belong to the 1st harmonic class.
