How directions work

[comments] The people of Chū-Mèe view the world from the perspective of the human body and as such they connect each cardinal direction with a body part which means that if you are told to go to "head, shoulder, hand and hand again" you are being told to go North, East, West and West again. If told to go to the foot, you are going South since the entire country is viewed as being a massive body and going South means you are going down the leg to the foot of the country. This world view was reaffirmed when the Chū-Mèe empire was coming into being and established its head of power in the North which not only fell in line with the way the people viewed the world but also strengthened this world view. The Chū-Mèe people also view the head as being the centre of the individual and the brain is the essence which makes sense as our eyes, mouths and brains are all there and our brains contain the information that make us unique but the belief is not scientifically based, it is merely coincidence that it agrees with science.
