Ro'an has only 4 different forms for countable nouns, and 2 for uncountable. There are only two cases, direct and oblique, and two numbers, singular and plural. There are 4 noun classes that are lexical, this means you have to learn which class is every noun.

[edit] [top]Class 1:

This has about 40% of Ro'an nouns. There are several subclasses, according to the allomorphic changes of the stems. There are no class 1 nouns that end with 'a'.

Vowel stems

Vowel stems have some changes when some suffixes are added.

[edit] [top]Class 2

All the roots of this class end with a consonant. Oblique forms palatalize that consonant, and oblique singular is -ik if the final consonant is a plosive or affricate.
