1. Past Tense and its distinctions
The past tense in a verb conjugation talks about the action of the verb in the past, as the name says. The verb tenses almost always tend to have two distinctions ,and the past tense is no exception.
The past tense can be divided in:
Past Continuative
Remember the Present Continuative, where it talked about a certain point of the persent? Well, in the past is exactly the same, but instead of in the present, it's in the past. The first present distinction is conjugated by using the base verb (V), and adding the person and number suffix, which combine in some case to form more specific ones, plus the past suffix (-u).
We can see the Past Continuative Conjugation in this table:

Past Perfect
Does the name of the tense ring a bill to you? Sure it does to you. Know why? Because it is exactly the same! It talks about an action of the past that in still ocurring or has influenced on the present. The second present distinction is conjguated by using the auxilary verb (píijax, P), and adding the person and number suffix, which combine in some case to form more specific ones, plus the past suffix (-u), and the verb (V) in participle (V-ud).
