About Modern Yavodna
A descendant of the Yanudna dialect of Yavodna. Has similar phonemic inventory but with many phonological divergences and a more elaborate morphophonology.
(Old) Classical Yavodna was basically an umbrella of several mostly mutually intelligible dialects, of which the main one was Yanudna. In the few hundred years since, each of the dialects have undergone similar phonological and morphosyntactic changes while retaining the distinctions that they had in the first place. (to be determined: is there a different, more archaic written standard based on Old Yavodna?)
New Yavodna, the current standard, is based on the speech of Mavattain city, which spoke a Yanudna dialect variety historically. New Yavodna is currently replacing or at least influencing many of the other Yavodna lects in a similar manner to the way Muak influences the western Uemaua descendant dialect continuum.
