About Yaharan
Yaharan is the most widely spoken language in the region of Yahara (Lower Boroso). It is spoken as the official language of both the Kingdom of Upper Yahara and the Kingdom of Yaxarhayut, as well as in a minority capacity in the border regions of Heoroma and Ndatshon. Pockets of Yaharan speakers, however, exist all over Lower Boroso, mostly thanks to the historical Empire of Yahara's wide reaching rule. Yaharan is considered a prestigious language, though it is heavily associated with imperialistic ambition and oldtime hatreds and wars in many places. Few, however, would dispute its place as the most influential language south of the Fals Empire.
In the book series Ashe Rises, Yaharan is a dying tongue, spoken by a rapidly disappearing number of humans in the Kingdom of Yahara, and by the dwindling race of the Celehayar, the majority of which live in the Yarlcunoshayar, which is a shadow of its former self. The language, while having left its mark on Yahara (still being the language of faith and law in most of Yahara), has next to no native speakers in Yaxarhayut or the Empire of Southern Yahara.

[edit] [view] Síyähärä Cëlëbrëzstuludyä (Celebrezstuvan)This dialect of Yaharan is spoken in the Upper Yaharan region and the city of Celebrezstuverg. While it differs mainly in pronunciation, there are several words that have been developed by the dialect-speakers, and there exist a few grammatical constructs that are novel to the dialect.
[edit] [view] Síyähära Čovërgudyä (Ciovergian)This dialect of Yaharan is spoken mainly in the region immediately surrounding the town of Čovërg, as well as several pockets surrounding it. This dialect is known as the "singing dialect" due to several tonal features contained thereïn. This dialect also features the beginnings of regressive assimilation and final devoicing, as well as a conservative vocabulary. Ciovergian Yaharan was instrumental in reconstructing Old Yaharan stress patterns due to the traces left in Ciovergian speech.
[edit] [view] Sÿhärä (Haran)This dialect of Yaharan is spoken in the mountainous Duchy of Ëlyinväřg in the Kingdom of Upper Yahara, primarily in the valleys between the Caönfíg and Zílnhärä rivers, as well as some settlements along the inner banks of the two rivers. At one point, this dialect was found ranging from the Zílnhärä all the way over the mountains through to Dyänvërg, however the spread of standardised curriculum and the growth of Celebrezstuvan-dialect-speaking populations has made this direly endangered.
[edit] [view] Síyähärä Yërvërgudyä (Yervergian)This dialect of Yaharan is spoken in the duchies of Yerverg, Upper Tynda, Terenarth, and Silevarg. It is one of the largest dialects of Yaharan, and heavily influential in the development of the Vayondenian Standard of Yaharan. It is also known as Yerverg Standard Yaharan or Upper Standard Yaharan. It is distinguished primarily in the development of lax and stressed vowel distinction and the fricativisation of palatalised consonants.
[edit] [view] Síyähärä Yítsmäludyä (Yitsman)This dialect of Yaharan is found primarily in the Duchy of Yitsma and the City of Valeneni. It is considered one of the more "progressive" dialects of Yaharan, though it is often considered "amusing" to hear. One of the defining features of this dialect is its partial non-rhoticism and distinctive use of certain words and phrases.
