About Utshambe
"Utshambe" is the transcripion of "Yčanbeh" in Standard Retenian (うザめエべ) and it's also the name used in English.
Utshambe is spoken by the Utshankanzem people, also from the Retenian transcription (うザねエかねエぜめエ) for "Yčanqamzm" in Utshambe. Utshankanzems are one of the many ethnic groups that live in the mountainous areas of western Retenia. "Yčanqamzem" means "the peoples of the forest" and "Yčanbeh" means "The language of the forest"
Utshambe is descendant from Dunari, so it's from Proto Retenian and part of the Indo-European family.
Utshambe language was not written until the XVIII century* and the introduction of the Retenian syllabary among the utshankanzem people after the installation of migrants from Central Retenia in this region and the increment of trading. Even if the Utshankanzem territory was part of the Empire of Retenia since the XIV century and was also breviously part of the Kingdom of Deray during the Middle Ages, the contacts were limited due to the isolation caused by the mountains and hills covered by forest.
*in the Antiquity, Eastern Dunari tribes used the logographic writing system derived from the Central retenian logographic script but Western Dunari tribes generally don't used writing. Later, some Western Dunari peoples will adopt the writing system, some peoples also losed the use of writing system over time...
