[tazen]
thousand (number)
Etymology
Similar to English 'thousand'. Notes
Multiples of 1000 are produced by combining the numbers two to nine ('one thousand' is just tazen), sometimes abbreviated, with (ta)zen, similar to how multiples of 10 and 100 are produced: dotazen, fetazen, katazen, sitazen, sezizen, sivazen, otazen, notazen. These words are stressed on the second syllable.
Large numbers are produced by juxtaposing their parts, e.g. katazen kasentom kadikato (four thousand, four hundred and forty-four, 4444). Note that 'kadikato' has stress on the penultimate syllable.
